Maddie started preschool at Hazelwood on Tuesday! She was a little nervous and kept asking if I would stay, but she was looking forward to playing at the "water table." In typical Maddie fashion, she had nothing to say about preschool when I got home, but slowly a few details of the day came forth. Apparently Mrs. Foley told her not to touch a "pretend cake" that was on a plate. That was all I got...and she said she had fun at the water table. Smile.

The GOOSE!
Today I came home from work to a clean house and a sleeping baby. Maddie was with Papaw and Mamaw. Lucy woke up and we went outside to enjoy a beautiful evening and an impromptu photo shoot. My aunt had dressed her in this sweet little yellow dress that my neighbors, Bob and Virginia, had brought over as a gift for Lucy when she was born. Virginia told me that she had had the outfit in her closet for many years (it came with a matching diaper cover for cloth diapers). The transition back to work is going well, especially when I can come home for lunch and be with the girls for a bit, and come right home after work without any running around. We're very thankful for the support of our family!

Madeline
What a little beauty! I miss her long hair only when I see pictures like this one. Other than that, I love her short style. Maddie starts preschool soon, I go back to work in a little over a week, Lucy is getting monstrous way too quickly and life keeps on going. Summer, sad to see you go, yet I'm excited for changes.

HUGS!!!!!
Brenley has been over quite a bit this summer and the girls' favorite game is Sleep Over. They get into pajamas, then brush their teeth, go to bed and "sleep", then they play dress up. I love the look on Pete's face as she's getting overwhelmed in a Maddie Mega Hug. We're excited that Brenley is going to come over two days a week starting in the fall to play with Maddie and go to preschool. They will be in the same class at Hazelwood. Yay!!

Lucy is getting super chubtastic! Losing her hair a little, but still bright orange red. Smiles a lot and loves to look at her big sister. Maddie came up with code names for the family this week: Mommy is "Candy Cane", Daddy, "Milkshake"; Lucy, "Lollipop"; Maddie, "Ice Cream Cone"; Trevor, "Cupcake"; Bubby, "Ice Cream Sandwich". I told her it would make more sense if I were Milkshake, but no. Ha!

Summer 'Do!
It is August and work is just around the corner. We've had such a nice summer here at home. I've loved spending the days with my girls, but I am definitely excited to be going back to work. The summer has been full of spur-of the moment cookie and cupcake baking, ice cream making, county fair fun-housing, swimming, farmers marketing, Children's Garden walking, baby cooing, watermelon and cherry tomato growing....fun times. Oh yes, and short hair cuts!

Kings Island
Aaron took Maddie to King's Island and she rode all the rides she could. She loved the Fairly Odd Coaster (AKA, The Beastie!) which she rode three times. They were there for about nine hours and didn't get home until after midnight. In her sleepy tired voice she said "Mommy....I rode the big roller coaster!" They both had so much fun. She told me that we would have to go back so that I could ride with her. I can't remember when I rode my first roller coaster, but I"m pretty sure it wasn't at three years old!

Cowgirl
Nonny took Maddie and Brenley to see Blue's Clues at the Civic Theatre on Friday. We didn't have any Blue's related outfits or accessories, so we decided to do a little dressing up in a totally unrelated theme, one that is a perennial favorite--Cowgirl! Why not. Then we took advantage of the pretty day and the pretty flowers and took some pictures. Madeline's posing cracked me up.

Lucy
Welcome, Lucinda Catherine Fisher! Our sweet little red-head was born April 24 at 10:50 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs 14.5 oz and is 20 inches long. We were able to have her at Expectations, in the water, after a very short 3 hours of labor! She is a super chilled-out baby and already goes about 4 hours between feedings at night, so we are getting some rest. Click on the picture to see more of Lucy, Maddie and the rest of us.

Baby Fisher II -- A First Look
You're seeing the little squirt's first smile! Isn't she/he so cute? I had an ultrasound this morning and got to see several expressions--pouty lips, tongue out, eyes open, and a smile. It was amazing and I fell in love with this sweet little person inside me. At 32 weeks, the baby is now a whopping 4 pounds and everything is normal, except for Filbert the Fibroid. Filbert is maintaining fighting weight, but hasn't gotten bigger since my last visit two months ago, so that is good!
